Panasonic HD Televisions
Panasonic are one of the leading manufacturers of HD televisions and other HD equipment. They were the first company to release an HD plasma TV with a built in freesat tuner, which appeared only a few months after the service was first introduced in the UK.
Panasonic produce top quality Plasma and LCD HD TV's but keep them at an affordable price. Typically, a new set is released every year although it is more true to say that new sets appear every other year; the second year after a release generally see's the last years models updated with newer circuitry, glass and styles while keeping much the same features.
The sets range generally from 32inch to 65inch screens, but they also unveiled their 150in Viera display at IFA 2008 in Berlin. The TV also has an amazing resolution of 4096 x 2160 which puts any other TVs to shame.
The Viera televisions have compatible features across the entire product line, which also enhances connectivity to other panasonic devices such as DVD recorders. Most of the sets are now full HD although some of the cheaper ones will display the picture at an SD resolution, but keeps it at a very high quality. Many TV engineers consider Panasonic to have one of the best pictures available in the price range they are available for and not many are disappointed with their purchase once it is setup.
Panasonic TV's usually come, like most other manufacturers, with a large series of product numbers which are generally split into 3 categories - low, mid and high end televisions each with its own feature set. Within those groups they are split into 2 other categories - size and type (lcd or plasma). Knowing which one to get can be tough to pick them apart, although you should always check the product description to make sure it suits your needs.
